About Me

I am a writer of creative nonfiction, a full-time psychology professor, and a textbook author. 

Since earning my doctoral degree, I have had my feet in the dual worlds of academic psychology and creative writing. 

On the creative nonfiction side of things, my work has appeared in 

The Missouri Review, Blackbird, Hippocampus Magazine, and several other journals. 

As for my academic life, I very proudly joined the faculty at Salem State University 

in Salem Massachusetts in 2007 after having been a research scientist at the 

Wellesley College Centers for Women and New England Research Institutes.
